Persistence Pays Off: Nadeau Grabs NH Girls Junior Title

Posted: July 2, 2025

Bretton Woods, NH – The 2025 New Hampshire Junior Championship concluded in dramatic fashion at Mt. Washington Resort Golf Club, where Braden Kiley soared to a wire-to-wire win in the Boys Division at 12-under-par, while Teagan Nadeau emerged victorious in a close battle for the Girls Division title.

In the Girls Division, Teagan Nadeau outlasted Round 2 leader Josie Lefebvre in a tight race. Nadeau carded rounds of 79-82-80 to finish at 25-over-par (241), two strokes ahead of Lefebvre (243), who matched Nadeau over the first two days but stumbled late with an 83.

Nadeau’s final round 80 included a gritty recovery after a tough start on the front nine. Despite carding double bogeys on holes 1, 3, and 9, she steadied herself on the back nine, carding just three bogeys and six pars to finish the round strong. Although she had a rocky start, her highlights of Round 3 came when she made back-to-back birdies on holes 6 and 7 to regain her confidence.  With a final round 80 (+8), Nadeau captured her first New Hampshire Girls Junior Championship title.

“It definitely means a lot,” said Nadeau. “I’ve been playing in this for a really long time, so it feels good to finally get a win. We missed some people this year, but we still had a really fun time. It’s a great course and it really means a lot.”

Maria Tribou rounded out the top three at 272, followed by Norah Fleming (273), Kendall Wishart (282), and Kailee Pendleton (295).

Kiley, who entered the final round with a commanding lead, fired a composed 4-under 68 on Wednesday to close out the tournament with a 204 total (67-69-68), a remarkable 11 shots ahead of his nearest challengers. His final round included five birdies, with two coming on his bogey-free front nine and three consecutive to start out his back nine. Despite a lone bogey on the par-3 14th, Kiley remained steady and in control, posting 34s on both sides of the card.

“It means a lot to me,” said Kiley. “I’ve put in a lot of hard work. And especially after last year coming up just short, I felt like this year was my year and I knew that the U.S. Junior was on the line, so it felt good to go out there, keep it steady all week and just get the job done.”

As Kiley mentioned, with this victory, he has earned himself a spot into the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship being held at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas last this month. This win now sets Braden Kiley’s name permanently in New Hampshire Golf history.

With sweeping views of the White Mountains and demanding conditions, Mt. Washington Resort once again provided a championship-caliber test for New Hampshire’s top junior golfers. Kiley and Nadeau’s names are now etched in the record books as 2025 state champions.
