Nashua, NH – The Granite State’s top professional and amateur golfers will converge on Nashua Country Club July 18-19 for the 92nd New Hampshire Open Championship, one of the state’s premier golf events. Nashua Country Club’s Head Golf Professional, Lewis Pattullo, will hit the first tee of the day to get the tournament underway at 7:30AM on July 18th.
Conducted by NH Golf, the 36-hole stroke play championship attracts a strong field of New Hampshire professionals, members of the New England PGA Section, past champions, and a select group of elite amateur players. NH Golf introduced numerous changes to the event for the 2026 season, including limiting the field to New Hampshire and New England PGA Professionals, past champions and amateurs comprise just 20 percent of the field, making the New Hampshire Open one of the most competitive professional championships in the region.
Defending champion Jason Thresher headlines the field as he looks to capture his third consecutive New Hampshire Open title and fourth overall. The Granby, CT native carded a 13-under-par total to win last year’s championship, which was previously a 54-hole event, and has established himself as one of the most accomplished players in the region, having also captured three Mass Open titles in recent years.
Joining Thresher in the field are four additional past champions: David Pastore, Kirk Hanefeld, Don Robertson, and Terry Hatch. Combined, the five former champions account for seven New Hampshire Open victories and bring decades of championship experience to Nashua Country Club.
“Nashua Country Club is a tremendous venue for the New Hampshire Open and will provide a great test for our field,” said NH Golf Tournament Director Kinsey Hoffmann. “Every year this championship brings together the best professionals and top amateurs from across the state and New England, and we’re expecting another highly competitive tournament.”
The championship’s format creates an opportunity for amateurs to compete directly against some of the region’s top professionals. While the majority of the field consists of professionals, a limited number of highly skilled New Hampshire amateurs will test their golf games against those of the professional ranks.
The championship returns to Nashua Country Club, one of New Hampshire’s most historic and respected golf venues, for the first time since 1966. Designed by renowned architect Wayne Stiles, the par-71 layout measures approximately 6,300 yards and has long been a favorite among the state’s top players.
Over the years, Nashua Country Club has hosted several NH Golf major championships, including the New Hampshire Amateur Championship and, most recently, the New Hampshire Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship. The classic design places an emphasis on precision and course management, challenging players to navigate tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and subtly contoured greens.
“Nashua Country Club is a tremendous championship venue with a rich history of hosting some of New Hampshire’s premier events,” said Hoffmann. “While it isn’t the longest course our players will see, it demands accuracy off the tee and rewards smart decision-making. It’s a golf course where every shot matters, and we’re excited to see how the field tackles it.”
The combination of a championship-caliber field and a historic venue should make for an exciting two days of competition as players battle for one of the most prestigious titles in New Hampshire golf. The tournament is set to begin Thursday, July 18th, with the opening round. Following 18 holes, players will return on Friday, July 19th, to determine who will hoist the New Hampshire Open trophy and etch their name alongside the championship’s distinguished list of winners.
