Posted: May 11, 2026

Concord, NH – The qualifying round of the Four-Ball Match Play Championship took place at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, where 26 teams competed for seeding in one of New Hampshire Golf’s premier partner events. Leading the field were Nate Stevens and Jeremy Quelch, who combined for an impressive seven-under-par 65 to earn medalist honors and the top seed heading into match play.

Stevens and Quelch enter this tournament for the first time and turned some heads as they lead a competitive field. Beginning their day on the 9th hole, the duo got off to a strong start and quickly built momentum, carding three birdies and one bogey over their opening nine holes to make the turn at two-under-par. They continued their steady play on the second side, adding three more birdies and an eagle while limiting mistakes to card five-under-par on their second nine to finish at seven-under par total. Stevens contributed several key birdies throughout the round, while Quelch’s consistent play helped anchor the team’s winning performance.

Just one shot behind, Mahan and Cilley posted a strong six-under-par 66, keeping pressure on the eventual medalists throughout the day. Gavin and McIlvene secured the third seed after carding a three-under-par 69, while a trio of teams, Johnston and Sovis, Arsenault and Webster, and Moquin and Duhamel, finished tied for fourth at two-under-par 70.

The depth of the field was evident, with several teams clustered closely behind. Surprenant and Shattuck and Hamel and Dyer each finished at one-under-par 71, while Mulkern and Wilson, defending champions, and Cadman and Brown rounded out the top finishers at even-par 72, setting the stage for a highly competitive match play bracket.

The final seeds came down to a hole-by-hole playoff between the Rainey and Dowell team and Maniglia and Klinger teams. Claiming the final seed into the Championship flight were Rainey and Dowell with a par on the first playoff hole. They now head into match play knowing they have an uphill battle as they are set to face Stevens and Quelch.

With qualifying complete, the championship now shifts to the head-to-head match play portion of the event, where players will battle through each round for the opportunity to claim the Four-Ball Match Play Championship title. With strong performances across the board and little separation among many of the advancing teams, the stage is set for an exciting stretch of match play competition.
