Concord, NH – A dramatic hole-in-one and a late-round charge were the defining moments of Sunday’s New Hampshire Amateur Qualifier at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, where 24 players advanced to the 122nd New Hampshire Amateur Championship presented by Davis & Towle Insurance with support from Johnnie Walker. The cut line was set at 5-over-par 77, with four players entering a playoff for the final two spots.

Leading the way was Nate Crowley of Nashua Country Club, who posted a 2-under-par 70 to top the field. Crowley got off to a slow start with a bogey on his opening hole but quickly bounced back with a birdie to regain his composure. Making par the remainder of his opening nine holes, he made the turn at even par and caught fire from there. He birdied Beaver Meadow’s 1^st, 2^nd and 4^th holes. Despite a bogey on his 14^th hole, he finished his second nine at 2-under-par. His solid ball striking and composed putting earned him medalist honors and a confidence boost heading into the New Hampshire Amateur next month.

The round’s most electric moment came from Harry Garland (NH Junior Club), who made a hole-in-one on the par-3 6th hole en route to a 3-over 75. Garland’s ace was the highlight of the day and helped him secure one of the qualifying spots.

Stephen Quillinan of Beaver Meadow Golf Course took advantage of his home-course knowledge to shoot a 1-under 71 and finish solo second. Austin Baker (NHGA e-Club) secured third place with an even-par 72.

With the cut set at 77 (+5), four players entered a sudden-death playoff for the final two spots. Chris Beckingham (NHGA e-Club) and James Shattuck (Beaver Meadow Golf Course) emerged from the playoff to claim the last entries into the championship field.

The 24 qualifiers now shift their focus to the 122nd New Hampshire Amateur Championship, set to be played next month at Rochester Country Club. The next qualifier on the road to Rochester is Monday, June 23^rd at The Maplewood Golf Club where 47 players will be vying for 12 spots into the championship.
