Rye, NH – Some of the Granite State’s top female amateur golfers will make their way to New Hampshire’s Seacoast next week as the 2026 New Hampshire Women’s Amateur Championship presented by Vigilant Wealth Management returns to historic Abenaqui Country Club, July 27-29.
The 54-hole individual stroke play championship will crown the state’s premier women’s amateur golfer over three days on one of New Hampshire’s most picturesque and challenging layouts. It marks the first New Hampshire Golf championship at Abenaqui Country Club since the 2022 New Hampshire Amateur Championship.
Carved between coastal fields and marshlands, course architect Alexander Findlay created the quintessential New England country club at Abenaqui. Known for its meticulous conditions and intriguing green complexes, the course sits just a quarter mile from the Atlantic Ocean, where a steady sea breeze can provide an added challenge for competitors throughout the championship.
A talented field featuring experienced veterans, accomplished collegiate players and rising junior stars will compete for the championship.
Among the collegiate golfers in the field are June Doerr (Merrimack College), Delaney Nadeau (Monmouth University), and Cassady Gallant (Bryant University), each bringing collegiate experience to one of New Hampshire Golf’s premier championships. Additional veterans in the field include Dana Harrity, 16-time New Hampshire Women’s Amateur Champion and New Hampshire Golf Hall of Famer, and Kat Bordeau who has claimed the New Hampshire Women’s Player of the Year title for the last four years.
The next generation of New Hampshire golf will also be well represented with five junior golfers in the championship. Among that group is 13-year-old Naw Whar, who recently competed in the 2026 Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club, showcasing her talent on one of junior golf’s biggest stages.
Another junior contender to watch is Mady Savary, who enters the championship with considerable momentum after capturing the 2026 New Hampshire Girls’ Junior Championship earlier this summer. Savary, who is committed to continue her golf career at Murray State University, has finished runner-up at the New Hampshire Women’s Amateur in each of the past two years and returns looking to take the next step.
“I feel, mentally, pretty relaxed,” Savary said. “I would also say that my game is in a good place, so that adds to my confidence.”
Her recent victory has only strengthened that belief. She commented, “Winning that event has definitely helped me feel confident in my ability to score. I’m looking to carry that over to the upcoming tournament.”
After narrowly missing out on the title in consecutive years, Savary says the experience has fueled her preparation.
“With back-to-back runner-ups, it does make me even more motivated,” Savary said. “I have found things I needed to improve on from last year and I’ve used this time to practice and become more consistent. I’m looking for my hard work to pay off.”
With a championship-caliber venue, a field featuring emerging collegiate talent and promising juniors, and several players capable of contending for the title, the 2026 New Hampshire Women’s Amateur Championship promises three days of competitive golf along New Hampshire’s scenic coastline.
Championship play begins Monday, July 27, with the opening round of the 54-hole stroke play championship. The champion will be crowned following the final round on Wednesday, July 29.
