Chip-Ins & Clutch Birdies Power Stamoulis & Nutter to NH Four Ball Victory

Posted: June 11, 2025

Campton, NH – In a day that demanded both precision and endurance, the team of Demetri Stamoulis and Jake Nutter rose to the occasion, capturing the 2025 New Hampshire Four Ball Championship at Owl’s Nest Resort Golf Club with a wire-to-wire victory. The duo posted rounds of 62-66—128 to finish at 16-under-par and claim the title by one stroke.  They fended off surges from the Surprenant/Shattuck and Groft/Rines teams to claim their first NH Four Ball title.

The format—36 holes in one day—kept the pressure high and the pace intense. Stamoulis and Nutter got off to a hot start in the morning with a bogey-free 62 (-10), setting the tone for the day.

“In the first round we dinged and donged pretty well,” said Nutter. “I don’t think we made any bogeys and I think we only birdied one of the same holes, so we were really good in that regard. Demetri had some critical chip-ins that really propelled us more. That was really key for us—not making birdie on the same holes and those bonus chip-ins.”

The second round brought some challenges. The pair started slow, but Nutter closed strong, birdieing four of the last six holes to help secure the win.

“We were a little slow out the gate in the second round,” said Stamoulis. “But Jake played really well down the stretch and birdied four of the last six holes. He made a big four-footer on the last hole to finish it off.”

Nutter added, “We had a couple bogeys on the back nine that derailed us, but luckily our lead was enough where we had some wiggle room. We just tried to take one hole at a time. With this format, you know people are going to make birdies, so the mindset is to go out and make birdies but don’t do anything silly.”

The duo of Andrew Surprenant and James Shattuck made a furious run with a 63 (-9) in the afternoon—tied for the lowest score of Round 2—to finish at 15-under and in solo second. Surprenant and Shattuck put the pressure on Stamoulis and Nutter late in the day as they charged up the leaderboard and sat tied for the lead at one point.  They were just one birdie shy of tying this year’s champions.  Harvin Groft and Jalen Rines also fired a final-round 63 to finish third at 14-under.  Groft and Rines were also on a roll late in the day with four consecutive birdies projecting themselves up the leaderboard in a hurry.  While they needed two more birdies to contend with Stamoulis and Nutter, the two can be proud of the effort they displayed throughout the day.

Owl’s Nest provided a scenic and challenging backdrop for the championship, and the leaderboard reflected the caliber of play on display throughout the day.  Birdies were to be had all throughout the day, but the wind in the afternoon made it more challenging on the players as they had to navigate strong breezes on some holes in order to score well.  Set up at around 6,600 yards, players needed to be precise off the tee to avoid any trouble on the left and right of each hole.

New Hampshire Golf would like to thank Owl’s Nest Resort for their hospitality and giving up the course for the entire today.
