Bretton Woods, NH – The pressure is building in the White Mountains as the 2025 New Hampshire Junior Championship heads into its final round at the Mount Washington Resort Golf Club. With strong performances in Round 2, Braden Kiley and Josie Lefebvre have positioned themselves as the players to beat in their respective divisions with just one round left to play.
Braden Kiley followed up his opening round 67 (-5) with a steady 3-under-par 69 to remain atop the Boys Division leaderboard at 8-under-par. The Manchester Country Club standout carded six birdies in Round 2, including a red-hot front nine where he went out in just 33 strokes thanks to birdies on holes 1, 2, 6 and 9.
Though he ran into some trouble with a bogey on the par-5 10th, Kiley quickly bounced back with two more birdies on the 11th and 12th holes at Mt. Washignton. He carded just one more bogey before closing out his solid round with a 69 (-3). His ability to stay composed and convert scoring chances has kept him in control heading into the final day.
Hot on his heels is Gavin Richardson, who made a statement with a 68 (-4) that featured eight birdies, moving to 6-under-par for the tournament and just two shots back of Kiley. Henry DuBois (-1) and Ryan Allard € remain in contention with rounds of 2-over-par 74, while Harry Garland and Ty Lefebvre are tied for fifth at +1. All will look to keep Kiley in their sights as they tee it up for one final round to determine who will be crowned the New Hampshire Boys Junior champion.
On the Girls’ side, Josie Lefebvre climbed into first place after a second straight round of 80, taking a one-shot lead over Round 1 leader Teagan Nadeau. Josie’s second round ended in the same score she had from the first round; however, she got there different ways. While she stumbled more on the front nine in her second round, she was able to maintain her composure and keep her back nine steady at just 3-over-par. Her ability to limit damage and finish strong kept her just ahead in a tight race.
Nadeau sits just one stroke behind at 161 after an 82 on Tuesday, making for an exciting final round finish to determine the New Hampshire Girls Junior champion. Maria Tribou (91-89—180), Norah Fleming (96-86—182), Kendall Wishart (94-102—196) and Kailee Pendleton (99-98—197) round out the rest of the Girls Division.
The final round of the New Hampshire Junior Championship tees off on Wednesday, July 2nd. With the tight leaderboards, it sure to be an exciting finish at Mt. Washington Resort Golf Club.
